Jorgensen Engineering develops and produces complex, automated technical and customized niche solutions for the food, pet food and healthcare industries. - We are experiencing more and more tasks in the food industry that require stainless steel machine guarding, and have therefore also needed to streamline our design work.

Safety and hygiene requirements in food production have become more stringent over the years. Depending on the zone in which you work in food production, different hygiene precautions apply. There is often a strong focus on safety and hygiene from our customers, but also strict requirements from various authorities. This places great demands on machines and equipment - but also on stainless steel machine safety, says Tommy Bjørklund Back, Purchasing Manager at Jorgensen Engineering.

NTF-Aalborg is our absolute preferred supplier of stainless steel shielding," he says.

Why modular machine guarding?

- For many years, we have only used modular solutions. It is much easier and time-saving for our designers to use modular safety guarding solutions.

- We do a lot of projects for large machine builders where we put together packages of machine guards. Because the bills of materials are often very similar and can be reused or slightly adjusted from project to project, we achieve great time savings. We buy wire modules, stainless steel posts and custom-made adjustable doors that we have on hand for the different projects, says Tommy Bjørklund Back.

- Shielding comes last and is not always the most exciting thing to draw. As a project engineer, I'm more passionate about designing entire production lines and equipment. When I need to design stainless steel machine guarding , it's much easier to use NTF-Aalborg's configurator called FenceCreator. It works really well, and NTF-Aalborg is always helpful in checking that the dimensions and drawings match, or helping to make individual adjustments to my drawings if I need it. I really appreciate that," says Erik Jakobsen, Project Engineer at Jorgensen Engineering A/S.

We value flexible suppliers

- It's important for us to have flexible suppliers. NTF-Aalborg is flexible and easy to get in touch with. They are very helpful and never say no to helping us with special solutions. It's all about trust and they have many years of experience with stainless steel solutions for the food industry and are very good at proposing technical solutions," concludes Tommy Bjørklund Back.
